2013-06-19 [Ms. Steel]: This is going to come as a HUGE SURPRISE, but I have a few questions. (only because I always have questions, not because this isn't user-friendly)
1. I wasn't certain about the age. I kind of wanted him to be just out of the Academy, but wasn't sure if it was more akin to undergrad, grad school, etc. So the number up there is kinda just an arbitrary estimation.
2. 'Family business'...? Is that okay? I was going to specify, but wasn't certain what was allowed. Coal business, generic technology something-or-o
3. If he is just out of school, what are the possible options for work, or should be just be looking for employment? Or are the engineers simply absorbed as they graduate into the organism of the inner workings of the nation, wherever the ruling class/upper echelon engineers see fit?
2013-06-19 [Ms. Steel]: Also, suggestions and constructive criticism are always peachy keen.
2013-06-19 [Duredhel]: No prob :3
1. Age is good, early 20's would be fine for a recent graduate, could be even younger. People as young as 16 can sign up and be done in 4 or 5 years. Most people sign up at 18 but you can really sign up whenever if you have the aptitude.
2. Family business is fine :3
3. Engineers probably have the most freedom when it comes to their career path, they're on top of the world, so to speak. They may choose to set up a business, work for the government, go into research, go adventuring, etc etc. He could also be simply job-hunting.
2013-06-19 [Duredhel]: Ohu :O You need to pick some proficiencies from WoW - Proficiencies. You can pick up to three.
2013-06-20 [Ms. Steel]: I guess... Craftsmanship, Engineering, Focus...
2013-06-20 [Duredhel]: Aye :3 what would you like your character's focus to be (Engineering, Decipher, Memory, Heal, Identify or Learn)?
2013-06-20 [Ms. Steel]: hmm. So do I keep going with Engineering or branch out instead?
What does Memory do?
2013-06-20 [Duredhel]: Whenever you need your character to recall information you as a player don't know but hope he might, memory is used :3. If successful I outright tell you the info.
It's up to you, you can choose whatever skill you'd like.
2013-06-20 [Ms. Steel]: mmm, maybe I'll go with Memory, then.
2013-06-20 [Duredhel]: Gotcha.
2013-06-30 [Ms. Steel]: So adorable, the poor strung-out dear.
2013-07-15 [Ms. Steel]: Will it be possible for Thad to possess/purcha
2013-07-15 [Duredhel]: Yup :O! I'm adding stuff on miscellaneous items, I'll keep those in mind.
2013-07-15 [Ms. Steel]: Coolio.
2014-01-05 [Ms. Steel]: Dur, could I give Thad 5 pts in Perception and 5 in Charisma, please?
2014-01-05 [Duredhel]: Of course :>
2014-01-05 [Ms. Steel]: Thanks!
2014-01-06 [Ms. Steel]: Exactly what does 'business attire' encompass in the world of the game?
I've been imagining Thad wearing a greatcoat, slacks, a cutaway coat, waistcoat (a vest), cravat and buttoned shirt. Business-like, even though a frock-coat would be more historically accurate, but... well, we're not going for overt historical accuracy.
I just don't want to attribute more to his attire than he actually has is all, so sorry about my trivial questions. :-)
2014-01-06 [Duredhel]: I think that works :> No worries. You guys have some freedom to decide what your char is wearing. The name Business Attire is more so I can determine the cost and in-game properties of the clothing.
2014-01-06 [Ms. Steel]: Cool! Thanks.
2014-01-09 [Ms. Steel]: s-m-r-t
2014-01-12 [Ms. Steel]: If I have read and comprehended things properly... may I use my Intelligence XP for Expert Knowledge?
And if I don't yet have a Perception Proficiency, can I still attain one?
2014-01-12 [Duredhel]: Yes on both counts :>. The perception proficiency will cost 10 XP, which you have.
What would you like Thaddeus' expert knowledge to be about?
2014-01-12 [Ms. Steel]: Great! For the Perception, I would like Cautious, and for Expert Knowledge... just for esses and gees, what benefit would knowledge in Architecture provide?
Although, I could be boring and pick Engineering again... hmm...
2014-01-12 [Duredhel]: Not much right now :> but once you get to the city or if you would like Thad to go out exploring lost cities, it could come in handy. He would be able to identify how things were built, their apparent purpose, match different construction styles to periods or cultures, that sort of thing.
2014-01-12 [Ms. Steel]: hmmm... tempting...
2014-01-12 [Duredhel]: Up to you :> you don't have to use up all your XP right away anyways.
2014-02-04 [Duredhel]: XD Zahrah's stiletto put Thaddeus close to carrying too much weight.
2014-02-04 [Figgy]: WHAT A WIMP
2014-02-04 [Ms. Steel]: HEY WATCH IT HE'S REAL SENSITIVE
2014-02-04 [Ms. Steel]: Just watch... he'll move through the snow with the ease of a square wheel, and he'll fight with the fierceness of a newborn kitten.
2014-02-04 [Duredhel]: Zahrah could pick him up and carry him.
2014-02-04 [Figgy]: HOW ROMANTIC
2014-02-04 [Ms. Steel]: OH MY GAWD... my last mental image before I have to go to a meeting. THANKS GUYZ!
2014-02-04 [Figgy]:
2014-02-04 [Ms. Steel]: sweet baby jesus
2014-02-04 [Ms. Steel]: I mean, it's perfect.
2014-02-04 [Figgy]:
2014-02-04 [Flisky]: Oh my God...
2014-03-19 [Ms. Steel]: Could I assign 2 point to Charisma, 8 to Dexterity and 5 to Perception, please?
2014-03-20 [Duredhel]: Aye aye
2014-03-20 [Ms. Steel]: Thanks!
2014-04-03 [Ms. Steel]: May I purchase the Polyglot proficiency, please? (if I have enough exp... heh...)
2014-04-03 [Duredhel]: sure thing.
2014-04-03 [Duredhel]: Thad is one point a way from bordering on the superhuman when it comes to identifying/de
2014-04-03 [Ms. Steel]: oops, uh...good thing he's got some foibles? ehhhh-heh.
2014-04-21 [Ms. Steel]: Once Thad builds his sentry, will that count toward his maximum weight anymore?
2014-04-22 [Duredhel]: Nupe :>, the sentry moves by itself.
2014-04-22 [Ms. Steel]: Cool.
2014-04-28 [Duredhel]: There you go :> Tok is up. He can carry stuff for Thad, too, but he has a very small carrying capacity XD
2014-04-28 [ancienteye]: Does Paki need a Notes page? :o
2014-04-28 [Ms. Steel]: If you'd like. I think it was optional!
2014-04-28 [Duredhel]: Tis optional, yes :3
2014-04-28 [ancienteye]: ...Does it help?
2014-04-28 [Duredhel]: It keeps you, the player, from forgetting plot details or mysteries you might have found or uncovered 8>
You can also decide whether to password protect your page (mysteries only for you) or keep it public (everyone else can see what Paki has found).
2014-04-28 [ancienteye]: Ok, then. :P
2014-04-28 [Figgy]: I'm waiting on a most fashionable sketch of Thad from you, Steel :3
2014-04-28 [Ms. Steel]: I have a very special drawing Thad in my mind, but... time! :***(
2014-04-28 [Figgy]: :(
2014-06-05 [Flisky]: The stiletto needs to be moved again.
2014-06-05 [Duredhel]: meep 8> sorry. I do it.
2014-07-19 [Ms. Steel]: Ohhh, I could get more Thad more proficiencies.
2014-07-21 [Ms. Steel]: I wanna get Thad a charisma proficiency, but, gosh, I don't know which one...
2014-07-21 [Ms. Steel]: Silver tongue!
2014-07-21 [Ms. Steel]: j/k
Probs skillful trade will come-in handy if he's gonna build another sentry thingamabob.
2014-07-21 [Ms. Steel]: I need 10 more Dexterity points for a total of 20 to purchase another proficient in that category, correct?
2014-07-21 [Duredhel]: Yush :O
2014-07-21 [Ms. Steel]: Thanks!
